Work Prep began in 1973 within Regina Social Services, launching the Regina Employment Assistance Program (REAP) to connect individuals with work placements, followed in 1975 by the Contemporary Women's Program (CWP), supporting women in Regina through treatment, counselling, and employment services. In 1984, new government employment initiatives expanded the province's employment support landscape, but a clear need remained: many individuals weren't ready to jump straight into work or training; they needed pre-employment support first. Recognizing this gap, Work Prep evolved, merging REAP and CWP into one dedicated not-for-profit built to help people navigate the road to employment, and we've been doing that work ever since.

For over 50 years, Regina Work Preparation Centre (RWPC) has been a cornerstone of Saskatchewan's community. As a government-funded, community-based employment services organization, we understand that finding your footing in today's job market can feel overwhelming, whether you're entering the workforce for the first time or rebuilding after a setback. That's why our programs meet job seekers wherever they are, fostering safe, non-judgmental spaces and delivering personalized, strength-based support that helps individuals overcome barriers and succeed on their own terms.

Backed by decades of community trust, RWPC continues to evolve, forging partnerships with employers and community organizations to remain a trusted leader in workforce development across Saskatchewan. Through initiatives like Employment Pathways, Virtual Reality Career Exploration, Job Launch, and In Motion and Momentum+, we help individuals discover their skills, explore diverse career paths, and work toward sustainable employment, particularly for job seekers from marginalized and vulnerable communities, building Saskatchewan's workforce, one person at a time.
